Hydrated magnesium sulfate (magnesium and sulfur) is the other name of Epsom salt, which is important for the growth of healthy plants. Epsom salt helps in improving flower bloom and enhances the green color of the plant. It also helps the plants to grow bushy.
Magnesium helps plants absorb valuable nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. It also aids in the formation of chlorophyll, which is crucial for photosynthesis. In addition, magnesium greatly improves the plant’s ability to produce flowers and fruits.
Epsom salts are pH neutral and gentle on plants, including potted houseplants. Plants like rose, tomatoes, and peppers, on the other hand, require lots of magnesium, and therefore, are more commonly watered with Epsom salt.
Applying in Liquid Form or Drenching plants with magnesium sulfate improves the overall health of the plant by providing a good dose of magnesium.
How to use Epsom salt?
It is mixed with water should be poured around the plant bases or sprayed directly on the leaves to produce large flowers and fruits.
The water mixture of Epsom salt should be sprayed once or twice a month. When diluted with water, Epsom salt is easily absorbed by plants. Mix one tablespoon Epsom salt in 2 liters of water and spray on the leaves of the plant.
If your soil is magnesium deficient, add Epsom salts directly to the soil. Measure 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt for each foot of plant height and sprinkle it directly onto the surface of the potting soil of the houseplant. Water the plant after applying the Epsom salt so the nutrients can sink into the soil.
